Jackie Jackson

Experienced Yoga Practitioner: Jackie is an experienced, registered yoga teacher (ERYT-500) and Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP®) with Yoga Alliance since being certified in 2001. She completed her year-long comprehensive yoga therapy certification in 2013 and her trauma-informed yoga certification in 2016. She is member of the International Association Yoga Therapists (IAYT.) She has worked with thousands of people in a variety of settings from schools, studios, fitness centers, to corporate classes, and shelters. She hosts classes, private sessions, workshops, teacher trainings, and nature retreats.  Her specialties include: prenatal yoga, structural yoga therapeutics, trauma-informed yoga, and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and other meditations. She is a Reiki Master in the tradition of Dr. Mikao Usui.

Author: Jackie’s debut as an author is Urge Overkill: A Story of Breaking Free, a self-help book on overcoming domestic violence from her days working at a domestic violence and rape shelter. Her second is Holistic Trauma Healing: Strategies to Integrate the Body, Mind, and Spirit, exploring how Psychology/Allopathic Medicine comes together with complementary modalities for the layperson. It is a lifeline/toolbox of practices based on expert research in both fields to connect you with your internal strength and healing abilities. Each chapter offers resources and DIY practices to explore.

Support Group/Experience Facilitator: Jackie offers meditation, stress reduction, & lifestyle management skills for groups and individuals in a variety of settings including: The Livestrong Cancer Survivor Program at the Y, studio classes, workshops, corporate spaces, retreats and online nationally with the OPLM.com mental health network. She is certified through the Center for Motivational Change in the Invitation to Change (ITC) model to support caregivers and/or those who struggle with substances.
